WhatsApp data deletion
Perkstar helps businesses send loyalty messages from their own WhatsApp Business number. Follow these steps to stop messages, disconnect a business account or request removal of data held in Perkstar.
If you receive messages from a business
Reply STOP or إلغاء to the business’s WhatsApp message to withdraw WhatsApp marketing consent. You can also turn WhatsApp marketing off in your loyalty account’s Preferences and data sharing screen.
To request deletion of your loyalty data, open your customer account from your loyalty card, choose Privacy & your data, then Close my account. The business responsible for your loyalty programme handles that request. You can also contact the business directly.
When your identifying data is erased in Perkstar, queued loyalty messages are cancelled and their stored content, recipient phone copies and provider message identifiers are removed. Some records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. Opting out of marketing alone does not delete your loyalty account.
For conversations sent or received in the WhatsApp Business app, request erasure separately from the business. The business must verify your right to that phone number’s conversation before deleting Perkstar’s copy. Closing a loyalty profile with a matching phone number does not establish that authority.
If you connected your business’s WhatsApp account
Sign in to Perkstar and open Campaigns → WhatsApp → Connection, then choose Disconnect WhatsApp. An owner or a team member with permission to edit operations can do this. Disconnecting removes Perkstar’s stored access token, disables WhatsApp automations and prevents new sends through that connection.
To request removal of the remaining WhatsApp integration records, email privacy@perkstar.co.uk with your Perkstar business name and connected business number. We will verify your authority to make the request and explain any records that must be retained. Do not include passwords, access tokens or verification codes.
Disconnecting Perkstar does not delete your Meta Business account or your WhatsApp Business app. Copies of conversations already held by Meta, the business or message recipients must be managed with the relevant account or service.
